National Night Out
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign, observed on the first Tuesday in August, that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.
This year, on August 1, 2023, National Night Out events will be held all across the country in an effort to enhance the relationships that must exist between the community and local law enforcement. These jointly sponsored events provide great opportunities for improved communication and interaction between local law enforcement and the community under positive circumstances; which in turn, helps to build trust and helps to increase the effectiveness of community policing.
In full support of National Night Out, The Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Maryland (MWPHLMD) will be supporting the local National Night Out Event here in Baltimore. During the event, we will also highlight several of our own community outreach programs, including our Child Identification Program (CHIP), as well as our youth mentoring programs, the Knights of Pythagoras, and the Simon-Cunningham Grand Youth Fraternity.

As National Night Out is a nationally coordinated event, the MWPHGLMD is strongly encouraging all constituent lodges and concordant bodies to participate in their local community’s National Night Out festivities, and here is how you can do your part in helping to promote the MWPHGLMD’s support of National Night Out.
- Take plenty of pictures and videos during your respective National Night Out events.
- Post your pictures and videos to your lodge’s social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, Tik Tok).
- Tag all of those posts using the hashtag, #MDPrinceHallNightOut2K3.
We will be highlighting all posts tagged with #MDPrinceHallNightOut2K3 on the MWPHGLMD website, so please, do your part, and get behind this worthwhile and necessary community engagement initiative.
